Dentures, often known as fake teeth, are custom-made to serve as a replacement for missing teeth. They are typically constructed of acrylic, nylon, or metal. They can be used to replace one tooth, multiple teeth, or all of your teeth, and they fit tightly over your gums.

It may also assist to keep your face from sagging with time and protect your remaining teeth. Depending on your condition, our dentist at Woodruff Family Dental may recommend full or partial dentures to restore your smile.
What Are Dentures?
Dentures are removable fake teeth that are used to replace teeth that have been lost due to tooth decay or accident, among other things. Dentures are designed to fit tightly with the form and size of the wearer's jaws and sit across the gums to replace missing teeth.
What Is the Purpose of Dentures?
Most patients require dentures because they have lost their teeth due to disease or accident and have trouble eating, chewing, or even speaking as a result. In some cases, the whole set of teeth lining both the upper and lower jaws may be extracted and replaced with a full set of dentures.
Dentures are sometimes used to address cosmetic concerns that may be creating low self-esteem. Dentures for the correction of an unattractive smile or to fill out a lost face shape are two examples.
The Procedure for Getting Dentures
The first step for our team is to examine the patient's teeth and assess the patient's overall oral health. During this inspection, the dentist will look for any signs of illness, tooth decay, past dental treatment that may interfere with the denture process, and any other teeth that may need to be removed before the dentures are placed.
Following the consultation, the dentist will make a model of the teeth and measurements ensure that the dentures fit perfectly over the remaining teeth. We will then transmit these results to a dental facility, which will construct the dentures according to the specifications.
After we finish the dentures, we will invite the patient in for a fitting to ensure the dentures fit properly. We will ensure that the customer can wear the dentures without pain or difficulty. During this session, we will make any required adjustments to the dentures.
